Rather, the drop in the player's £100,000-per-week wages was written into his contract from the very start - the details of which have now been made public by the unscrupulous Football Leaks website.

Last week the controversial outlet leaked the transfer agreement that saw Memphis trade Eindhoven for Manchester, and now the same people have got their hands on the player's individual contract as well.
For the duration of his first season at United, the paperwork states that Memphis will earn a total of £5.2m in basic salary. It's a figure that equates to £100,000 each week, but it will automatically drop to £75,000 (£3.9m annually) on 1st July 2016.
